An estimate under current law, in 2026 money: not advice, and not a Social Insurance Services calculation. It assumes you pay in as an employee every year from the age you start until the pension starts (at 68, until 65), on pay that stays the same multiple of basic insurable earnings (€11,480 a year in 2026). Pay above €68,904 a year is not counted. Credited periods, such as for illness or childbirth, are not included.
Years in another EU country, the EEA or Switzerland count towards qualifying, as do years in the UK for people covered by the withdrawal agreement (and broadly for others under the trade agreement), and years in the countries where the Ministry says agreements are applied (Egypt, Canada, Quebec, Australia, Serbia). Each country then pays for its own years. This estimate counts years in Cyprus only.
With one, two or three dependants the basic pension is 80%, 90% or 100% of your average instead of 60%; that is not included here.
This is the social insurance pension only. Long-term residents with no pension of at least €429.15 a month may get the social pension from the state budget instead, if they meet its residence conditions; anyone entitled to it does not get the lump sum.

A pension reform proposed for 2027, now a consultation draft and not law, would change these results: among other things it would drop the 30% test and lower the supplementary rate to 1.25%. It leaves the level of the new basic pension to a later decree, so it is not modelled here.
Social Insurance Law 59(I)/2010, Articles 2, 16, 35, 35A, 38 and 39 and the Third and Fourth Schedules, checked against the European Commission's guide (July 2026) and the ILO actuarial valuation. 2026 values from Social Insurance Services: basic insurable earnings €220.76 a week, full basic pension €529.82 a month, minimum pension €450.35 a month.
